The Story Behind Truly Magnetic

A Legacy of Strength. A Life of Light. A Brand With Purpose.

My brother Lee had a smile that could light up any room. He was the kind of person whose energy drew people in without trying — genuine, fearless, compassionate, and full of life. His spirit was magnetic. People felt stronger around him. They felt seen. They felt encouraged, inspired, and lifted.

Lee loved sports — not just for the competition, but for what sports create: connection, confidence, teamwork, grit, and heart.

He believed in pushing limits, showing up for others, and bringing people together. Whether he was playing on the field, cheering from the sidelines, or simply motivating someone who felt discouraged, Lee had a gift for lifting spirits and reminding people of their strength.

But one story captures who he truly was.

One cold day in downtown Mooresville, Lee saw a homeless man shivering without a coat. Without hesitation, Lee took off his own jacket and put it on the man. Then he told him,

“Wait right here — I’ll be back.”

Lee drove to Goodwill, bought a bag full of warm clothes, and returned to exchange them for the jacket he had given away. He didn’t tell anyone. He didn’t want recognition. He just wanted someone else to feel warm, cared for, and human.

That’s the kind of man he was.

And that moment — that heart — became the foundation of this brand.

When I started Truly Magnetic, I wanted to capture everything Lee represented:
